Multipurpose Development Society (MPDS), established in 1998 in Dadeldhura, is a non-governmental, non-partisan organization committed to uplifting disadvantaged communities by improving access to education, health, income generation, and conflict management. As a pioneering civil society organization in Dadeldhura, MPDS works to promote human rights, justice, and inclusivity, focusing on marginalized groups such as the poor, women, freed Haliyas and Kamaiyas, and Dalits.

Our expertise spans agriculture, sustainable livelihoods, women’s empowerment, health, education, legal aid, climate-smart technology, and capacity building. With a team of experienced professionals, deep community connections, and a results-driven approach, MPDS delivers measurable impacts, ensuring sustainable partnerships with various development allies.

We works to achieve the following objectives

MPDS empowers disadvantaged communities by promoting their rights, resilience, and well-being.

  • To implement programs that contribute towards the equitable development of women and men, women empowerment and protection and promotion of the child rights.
  • To support resilience of the high-risk and vulnerable communities through disaster preparedness, emergency response, humanitarian support, disaster risk management and climate change adaptation and mitigation programs.
  • To partner with governmental, national, and international organizations to implement awareness, testing, treatment, and support programs for HIV/AIDS-affected individuals, while advocating for their rights and reducing stigma at the grassroots level.
  • To implement programs that encourages the general public and communities in promoting and protecting environment and eco-systems.
  • To implement educational and welfare programs targeting social, educational and economic development.
  • To implement programs aimed at improving healthy, hygienic and community-based clean drinking water supply.
  • To implement various grassroot level programs and have strategic interventions towards fatal diseases, malnutrition, and maternal and new-born care.
  • To use the media proactively through platforms such as FM stations, print and online media in order to widely disseminate the messages aimed at changing behaviors.
  • To foster agricultural and non-agricultural skills, enterprise and entrepreneurships, alternative energy-based initiatives, micro-credit programs, commercial farming and livestock production aimed at the disadvantaged and deprived population.
  • To facilitate and implement programs aimed at making the in-country and out-country migration respectful, dignified and safe.
